HEADS OF STATE or GOVERNMENTS or HIGH PRIEST, all of them played a significant role in the shaping of the LAND OF ISRAEL, prior, during and after the BIBLICAL PERIOD.
This is not a story I am telling you it is an OVERVIEW of who was present along the DATE LINE, the WHEN, the WHY we will not be discussing in this BLOG, just who they were.
It all started with:

He extended the territory from the RED SEA to the EUPHRATES
KING REHOBOAM
931 BCE – 913 BCE 17 Years
In his 3rd year the KINGDOM was divided
KING JEROBOAM
NORTHERN TERRITORY, with the capital at SHECHEM, then TIRZAH, and finally at SAMARIA. The TERRITORY was then ruled by many DYNASTIES.
HOUSE OF DAVID
SOUTHERN KINGDOM OF JUDAH, with its capital at JERUSALEM.

KING ASA
KING ABIJAM 915 BCE – 913 BCE
Under him, we see a number of RULERS:
NADAB, BAASHA, ELAH, ZIMRI, OMRI and AHAB
KING JEHOSHAPHAT
Under him, we see other RULERS:
AHAZIAH and JEHORAM
KING JEHORAM BEN JEHOSHAPHAT,
KING AHAZIAH BEN JEHORAM
Under his reign, JEHU ruled ISRAEL.
QUEEN ATHALIAH
Mother of AHAZIAH
KING JEHOASH
The son of AHAZIAH
Under his reign, JEHOAHAZ and JEHOASH, ruled ISRAEL.
KING AMAZIAH
Under his reign, JEROBOAM II ruled ISRAEL
KING UZZIAH (AZARIAH)
Under his reign, ZACHARIAH, SHALLUM, MENAHEM, PEKEAHIAN and PEKAH ruled ISRAEL.
KING JOTHAM
KING AHAZ
Under his reign, HOSHEA ruled ISRAEL.
KING HOSHEA
HE WAS THE LAST KING OF ISRAEL.
KING HEZEKIAH
Under his reign the ASSYRIAN EMPIRE CONQUERED THE NORTHERN KINGDOM IN 722
BCE Leaving the SOUTHERN KING OF JUDAH safe from harm.
For almost 200-Years the ISRAELI TERRITORIES suffered many brutal battles. I cannot imagine what life could have been like during those periods of constant battles. Today, they are still suffering through battles. When are they going to learn, to at least try and live in harmony with each other. We can only sit back and wonder.

KING JEHOAHAZ
He was the son of JOSIAH.
KING JEHOIAKIM
He was also a son of JOSIAH.
KING JECONIAH
He was the son of JEHOIAKIM.
KING ZEDEKIAH
He was the son of JOSIAH.
In walked the CHALDEAN EMPIRE and takes the country, takes ZEDEKIAH into exile, but first kills all of his ten sons in front of him. Finally, he was blinded and thrown into prison, but released with JECONIAH. Then NEBUCHADNEZZAR dies and his evil son MOREDACH, take over the army.
KING GEDALIAH
Son of AHIKAM, who was advisor to KING JOSIAH, becomes GOVERNOR of JUDAH, but was assassinated twelve months later.
This was the END of all JEWISH SETTLEMENTS in ISRAEL for an extended period. The territory gets renamed:
THE PERSIAN PROVINCE OF JUDEA and various GOVERNORS are appointed.
ZERUBBABEL
Son of SHEALTIEL
This was the first year of CYRUS’ reign.
CYRUS succeeded DARIUS.
538 BCE or 520 BCE, ZERUBBABEL, brough the ISRAELITES back from captivity and ruled JUDEA for two years.
The HOUSE OF DAVID had survived, but struggled to reclaim the ruling HOUSE OF ISRAEL
NEHEMIAH
Becomes GOVERNOR in 445 BCE of JUDAH.
He was appointed by XERXES.
HANANIAH
Becomes GOVERNOR.
Life went on until the year 168 BCE, when the FAMILY NAMED, THE MACCABEES, created the HASMONEAN DYNASTY and they marched on all foreign owners of the land ISRAEL and their religion. This battle lasted for many years and many generations.
Unfortunately, one of their own turned on them and created the HERODIAN DYNASTY, from around 37 BCE to the fall of JERUSALEM to the ROMANS in 70 CE/AD, and that person was HEROD, the son of ALEXANDER, son of ARITOBULUS II, son of ALEXANDER JANNEUS, son of JUDAH MACCABEE, son of SIMON THASSI MACCABEE, son of the founder of the MACCABEE EMPIRE, MATTATHIS of the city of MODI’IN, 30-Kms west of JERUSALEM IN 166 BCE.
All these events and misery and heartbreak and damage to man and property started with ALEXANDER THE GREAT’S lust for power and ownership, between 312 BCE to around 63 BCE. When he founded the MACEDONIAN EMPIRE, and he sends his GENERAL SELEUCUS I NICATOR to take control of ISRAEL including JUDEA.
DENISE
1 000+ Years of conflict, for what? There is truly not much to say about the sufferings of the people of ISRAEL through the ages. I keep wondering how GOD could be feeling about their behaviours whilst allowing themselves the titles of HIGH PRIESTS and more. I think us humans, truly need to take stock of what we think of ourselves, before we upset GOD so much that he gets to use the weather again, which will end our little bits of nonsenses on this beautiful EARTH, HE created for us to enjoy, but watching us fight and litter and overpopulate it for our ‘own’ needs. NOT fighting, just saying.
