Fatherlike he tends and spares us;
Well our feeble frame he knows.
In his hand he gently bears us,
Rescues us from all our foes.
Widely yet his mercy flows!,
This is what JESUS means to me, the person I relied on all my life, when nobody else could not find a moment. I found him at my desk, whilst driving my car, whilst attending to my children, it was just the four of us, for so many countless moments of distress and sadness.
But here I am telling you about a story which started so many, many years ago and now ending with JESUS, son of our FATHER. Thanks to the ‘gifts’ received from GOD, I was able to focus and enjoy the writings of all the BLOGS, which make up the ANCIENT DATE LINE SERIES. My only prayer is that I did get to ‘show’ you the presence of GOD in all whom we are and have been.
Now HE is dead, for whatever reasons, the writers of old wrote about. HE was left with no real thought as to what they were going to do with HIS body when they planned HIS death and then killed HIM.
We start with the people who killed JESUS. He was condemned by PONTIUS PILATE, who was then the President of SYRIA, under the rule of ANTIPAS.
Who buries JESUS? The story starts with JOSEPH of ARIMATHEA. He was a member of the SANHEDRIN, an assembly of either 23 or 71 elders (not 72 elders), later known as RABBIS. They were appointed to sit as a tribunal in every city of ANCIENT ISRAEL. It was the SANHEDRIN who discussed the fact that JESUS had to be “done away with.” What they did not know is that JOSEPH was secretly a follower of JESUS, and was known as the FIRST FOLLOWER of JESUS, but was never a disciple.
MATTHIAS, was the father of JOSEPH and JONATHAN was his brother and they were from the city of ARIMATHEA, a city of JEWS. A city near RAMATHAIM SOPHIM on MOUNT EPHRAIM, the resting place of the Prophet SAMUEL. It is also within the region of the TRIBE OF BENJAMIN and the TRIBE OF DAN.
At the age of 12-years JOSEPH started to study the differences of the Jewish nations and the three sects.
- PHARISEES, which was the chiefess believers.
- SADDUCEES, who did not believe in the resurrection.
- ESSENES, who observed the Law of MOSES, and believed in the SABBATH.
JOSEPH was a clever boy. At the age of 15-years, he was already in the company of grown men, discussing Law and Ordinances, he had an excellent memory. JOSEPH, chose to be a PHARISEE, and left the ‘JEWISH’ church after getting to hear JESUS preach, and followed HIM through JUDEA, GALILEE, for the promulgation of the GOSPEL.
JOSEPH of ARIMATHEA, was adopted by ST. PETER as one of the 72 Disciples. At the time he approached PILATE for the BODY of JESUS, his true lifestyle was not known to the SANHEDRIN yet. He did not approach PONTIUS PILATE by himself, NICODEMUS accompanied him. NICODEMUS was also a PHARISEE, and a member of the SANHEDRIN (The Jewish Council) in JERUSALEM.
NICODEMUS was a ruler of PHARISEE, a most important high-level position, wealthy person. A person who had many conversations with JESUS, but always out of sight of his fellow members of the SANHEDRIN. When his council continued with the charging of JESUS, he sat on the fence and never gave his opinion, and then they killed JESUS.
It was both JOSEPH and NICODEMUS, who took JESUS from the cross and received the BODY of JESUS from PONTIUS PILATE. The two of them laid JESUS to rest in the SEPULCHRE TOMB of MATTHIAS, a tomb he reserved for his son JOSEPH. NICODEMUS, paid for the costly burial of spices and ointments for JESUS’ ROYAL BURIAL.
The SEPULCHRE is situated in ARIMATHEA, which is modern day BEIT RIMA, two miles North of TIMNAH. Some writers think that it could have been RAMALIAH, which is 8 miles North of JERUSALEM. It is speculated that they planted a HAWTHORN BUSH, near the SEPULCHRE, a WHITE FLOWERED, thorny bush.
After the said burial of JESUS, both JOSEPH and NICODEMUS’ secrets were made public, that they were followers of JESUS. NICODEMUS was fired from the council and banished from JERUSALEM.
I could not find where NICODEMUS went after his banishment. JOSEPHUS on the other hand when he was also fired and banished. He found himself in ENGLAND, at GLASTONBURY the city of WELLS. He settled at the famous ABBEY of GLASTONBURY, the first CHRISTIAN CHURCH in the world and it became the richest of its time.
He arrived in ENGLAND at the age of 42-years and died at the age of 89-years.
He is not alone within the Cemetery at GLASTONBURY ABBEY, he is joined by KING ARTHUR. I am not sure if JOSEPH together with NICODEMUS wrote this HYMN for JESUS at his BURIAL. But in my research documents, this HYMN was attached to the notes about JOSEPH in ENGLAND, I find it fitting for them to have ended the SERVICE laying JESUS’ BODY into the SEPULCHRE, which was reserved for JOSEPH and he OFFERED it up for JESUS.

“O LORD, HOW MARVELLOUS ARE THY WAYS’
I stand amazed in the presence,
Of JESUS the NAZARENE;
And wonder how HE would LOVE ME,
A sinner condemned unclean.
How marvellous how wonderful,
And my son shall ever be;
HOW MARVELLOUS, HOW WONDERFUL,
Is my SAVIOUR’S LOVE FOR ME
For me it was in the garden,
HE prayed “Not my will but THINE.”
HE had no tears for HIS own grief,
But sweat drops of blood for mine.
How marvellous how wonderful,
And my song shall ever be:
How marvellous how wonderful,
Is my Saviour’s love for me.
When with the ransomed in Glory,
HIS face I at last shall see;
Will be my joy through the ages,
To sing of HIS love for me.
How marvellous how wonderful,
And my song shall ever be;
How marvellous how wonderful,
Is my Saviour’s love for me.I stand amazed in the presence,
Of JESUS the NAZARENE;
And wonder how HE would LOVE ME,

How marvellous how wonderful,

I have no prior approval to share the words of this HYMN with the world, but I am sure the Author, will accept to allow me to share it with you.
