This is a journey we need to undertake, our DATELINE, is what I BLOG about, and I could not ignore the SUMERIAN KINGS LIST, because I had to get to understand the world lost to us first. We therefore start our journey with an opening statement, as I refer to it –

“AFTER THE KINGSHIP DESCENDED FROM HEAVEN, THE KINGSHIP WAS IN ERIDU.”

ERIDU, is understood by many scholars to be the earliest CITY, about 12 Kilometres from UR, ERIDU was believed to have been found by ENKI, so who was this guy?,

Ok we see that he was the god of water, knowledge, craft, and creation and he is believed to be an ANUNNAKI. ANUNNAKI, are ancient deity of the pantheon, which is a particular set of all gods, of individual polytheistic religion, mythology, or traditions, during ancient SUMER. . .Back then I thought that an ANUNNAKI, was also a member of the GIANT Clans. . . silly me!!

Digs confirm their SHRINES dating back to what was named as the UBAID PERIOD between the years 6 500 BCE, from before ADAM to around 3 800 BCE, during the time of SETH.

So now we have a starting DATE, to add to our creation period, a period prior to ADAM, 4 010 BCE going back in time to 6 500 BCE.

The members of the kings list, were many, and we see that they moved from city state to city state, or they might have moved there specifically to build these city states we know then and now. Each City they moved into, they created a god or a king, and even a title of priest-king (ENSI), who were assisted by councils of elders.

The first five cities created was ERIDU – BAD-TIBIRU – LARAG – ZIMBIR and SHURUPPAK.

When ERIDU, was no more, the kingship was taken to BAD-TIBIRA, now what is interesting is that BADTIBIRA, was situated on a COPPER BELT, today it is known as TELL AL-MADINEH in IRAQ, so they were clever, they moved where the mining was and where the water was, and they set up cities to manage and create what they could trade with to keep their home-fires burning.

The next statement that caught my attention was “THEN THE FLOOD SWEPT OVER.” I had to ask, ‘what is this now’ a FLOOD not on our DATELINE? It was definitely not NOAH’S FLOOD. What we read around this time is that after this particular FLOOD, more kingships descended from HEAVEN and this time the kingship was at KISH. What was found to match this FLOOD, was the FLOOD within the region of SHURUPPAK, not a major FLOOD. Unfortunately, around 2 600 BCE, KISH was no more.

Clay Tablets found dating to around 3 500 BCE – 3 200 BCE confirms a lot of what is written about the period we discussed above. They used an ideogram (pictures) form of writing, then around 3 100 BCE, around the time of LAMECH. Later they started to use a Logographic form of writing, using characters to represent words, and around 2 500 BCE to around 2 350 BCE, cuneiform writing took place by our known SUMERIANS, and this was before and up to the FLOOD of NOAH.

Now we find ourselves within a period known as the JEMDET NASR PERIOD, between 3 100 BCE – 2 900 BCE. During this period, we see our First Family expanding, LAMECH his wife BENETOS his sister RAKEL and METHUSELAH’s son ELIAKM and his wife and our NOAH, his brother NIR and NOAH’s wife EMZARA, and suddenly we find ourselves within the BIBLICAL STORY period of CREATION.

We conclude on a very crowded period on EARTH, with many more detailed stories that can be told, but it is not for our DATELINE JOURNEY, but we must now accept that without those individuals between 6 500 BCE to the period up to and including LAMECH. These guys left a lot of knowledge for the generations to come, irrigation of a high level is one that gets my attention. As well as the expansion and development of writing. Which means there was reading, and the activity of trade. And TRADE ROUTES ran as far as the INDUS VALLEY of INDIA, and to EGYPT, through the NUBIA or CUSHITE regions. Those 3 400 years a lot was achieved, and a massive legacy was left for our MODERN MAN as CREATED to continue their journeys to JERUSALEM.

The final years of SUMER, started with the FIRST DYNASTY of UR around 2 600 BCE, with MESKALAMDUG the first archaeological recorded king or LUGAL of the city of UR. Then there was AKALAMDUG, his son, followed by MESH-ANE-PADA of UR in the kings list, he was the one who defeated LUGALKILDU of URUK and KISH and more cities after then.

Then we see the DYNASTY OF AWN, a short Dynasty when the kingship was at AWAN.

This short stay, was the result of many comings and goings of politics and finds of mining, and all ends when we see the fall of the EMPIRE OF LUGAL-ZAGE-SI of URUK, around 2 359 BCE – 2 335 BCE.

This was an interesting period for me to research, as NOAH’S FLOOD sits in the middle of this period. LUGAL-ZAGE-Si, takes URUK and UR, and made his capital at URUK and he extended his kingdom to NIPPUR. He was running away from the FLOOD 2 350 BCE, and he says that he extended his land from the PERSIAN GULF along the TIGRIS and the EUPHRATES to the UPPER SEA, the MEDITERRANEAN, why did he say from the PERSIAN GULF, because the land of SUMER, was taken by the sea, it was no more.

Then the fun starts, as in walks SARGON in 2 334 BCE, after the FLOOD of NOAH, to around 2 279 BCE.

What happened now is that SUMER was no more, because of the FLOOD of NOAH, and the land above the confluence at BAGHDAD, became the ‘new’ land known as AKKADIA. SARGON becomes KING over the land of AKKADIA, him and his family and we need to know who they were, because I am sure they will pop up on our DATELINE as we journey along.
